The Fluffy Fund
At Kitty Rescue, cats who are in need of medicine and veterinary supervision receive the care they need until they find their new, loving homes. And, those who aren't adopted stay at our no-kill shelter indefinitely. The extra medical treatments for all of these cats can get prohibitively expensive for the shelter. If you'd like to help us care for the health and happiness of our special needs cats, one way is to donate to the Fluffy Fund.
The Fluffy Fund was created in memory of Fluffy—a cat that developed diabetes,
hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, arthritis, hyperthyroidism, and exocrine pancreatic
insufficiency. The little guy required insulin every day, pills and powders, periodic
checkups, and had occasional emergency visits to the hospital. These treatments were
often expensive but well worth it. Fluffy was exceptionally sweet, sociable, forgiving,
resilient, and calm—with still plenty of kitten-like mischief in him to make life
interesting. Because of the care he was able to have, he lived to a ripe old age of 14. In
return, he made his owner very happy —the purrfect feline companion!
Many special needs cats have the potential to lead comfortable lives as Fluffy did,
providing that they have the proper care. If you are not able to adopt one of these special
animals, you can still help to make their lives as happy and long as Fluff’s by donating
what you can to the Fluffy Fund. Your reward will be the contented purrs of furry felines.
Thank you for your much-needed support!
