Frequently Asked Questions
1. WHAT ARE YOUR BUSINESS HOURS?
By appointment only. Please email us to set up a time to visit the shelter.
2. DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT TO SEE A CAT/CATS?
Yes, making an appointment to see the cats is important because we need to be sure a KRA volunteer is available to show you around the shelter, as other volunteers are busy cleaning the cat rooms.
3. IF I FIND A CAT I WANT TO ADOPT, CAN I TAKE HIM/HER HOME THAT DAY?
No, there is an adoption process. We need at least 48 hours to check your veterinarian reference and prepare the kitty to go home.
4. WHAT IF MY ADOPTED CAT DOESN'T ADJUST TO MY HOME?
We ask that you give your new kitty some time to gradually adjust to its new kitty family and home. Please feel free to talk with a shelter volunteer for gather tips to ease the transition before taking your new kitty home. But, if your new kitty does not settle in after several weeks, he or she would be welcomed back to the shelter.
5. CAN I ADOPT MORE THAN ONE CAT?
Yes! Adopting a second cat provides much needed kitty companionship. Cats are very social, with people and cats alike! Take some time to watch who your kitty hangs out with at the shelter!
6. WHY CAN'T I HAVE MY CAT DECLAWED?
KRA feels it is cruel to do this to cats. We'd be happy to share our documentation that supports our stand on this critical issue.
